Helsinki Transfers City Bike Station Advertising to Outshine

Helsinki’s city bike station advertising locations will come under Outshine’s management starting April 1, 2027. This transition adds 62 new digital faces to Outshine’s inventory, solidifying its position as the capital’s most comprehensive street-level OOH media with over 500 digital faces.

On December 5, 2025, the City of Helsinki reached a decision to transfer the advertising faces connected to the city bike system to Outshine’s management, effective April 1, 2027. These stations will add 36 new advertising units, totaling 62 digital faces, to the network. The agreement extends until at least 2035, with an option to continue through 2039.

Previously, the city bike system was tendered as a single entity, where both bike operations and advertising management were part of the same contract. Now, the advertising assets have been decoupled from the system operations and integrated into the broader partnership agreement between the City and Outshine.

“This decision clarifies the market and provides advertisers with exactly what they’ve been asking for: a comprehensive, predictable, and high-quality digital OOH network that remains stable for at least the next 10 years,” says Jani Lepistö, CEO of Outshine.

Following this change, Outshine will manage over 500 digital OOH faces across Helsinki’s streets. When combined with the digital screens being built in Espoo between 2025 and 2027, Outshine will reach residents and visitors across the capital region with a powerhouse of over 700 digital faces for the next decade.
